Shah Zamir's Personal Webpage

I am a fifth-year math Ph.D. student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln working under the supervision of Dr. Alexandra Seceleanu. I completed my Master's at the University of Minnesota Duluth under the supervision of Dr. Joe Gallian. My research interests are in commutative algebra, specifically computational/combinatorial commutative algebra and algebraic geometry. Broadly, I try applying commutative algebra methods to answer questions of algebraic geometry in the weighted projective space. (See Research for a more through explanation.) I am also interested in cross-sections of humanities and mathematics (see this talk). In my free time I enjoy weightlifting, reading about national politics, reading fiction/magical realism and cooking.
